Studying abroad in the UK or any other country, far from your own, happens to be fun and fascinating. But at the same time, it is also not really easy to be away from your own culture, your people, your mother tongue and most importantly your own family. Just a thought of it can give you goosebumps and sleepless nights, but then this opportunity can for sure bring out the best student in you. For instance, what you will learn there in your one semester equals the amount you'll learn in your entire college life (aren't all the sleep ness nights worth it?) So basically, I mean studying abroad has both pros and cons, although more pros than cons. I, in my article, will only talk about the pros of studying outside as I am an optimistic person and like to bring out optimism in every situation (well, that's how we all should see life).
The education system in UK, in my opinion, has brought out some of the top educationists, writers, researchers and top professionals. As a student of literature, I would waste no chance of studying in England and would really be very excited to study in a country that gave birth to the great artists like Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and not to forget my all time favorite Jane Austen. Studying literature at Shakespeare's birth place at Stratford- Upon- Avon is a dream of every literature student. It would be priceless to visit the libraries that have Shakespeare's vast collections and sit and study more and more about all my favorite writers who were from the UK.
The best part of studying in England is that English is the spoken language, so you have no communication barriers which you may find if you choose to study somewhere else. There are innumerable educational options in England. From Oxford and Cambridge to any of the 3,000 other English Universities. If you choose to study in the day hours, you may work in the night hours or do some part time jobs to meet UK's vast expenditures. No doubt, it is an expensive place, but you will find truck loads of options to earn a livelihood.
The UK, in each respect, is the best possible place for students who opt to study abroad. The climate will make you fall in love with it. Studying in a cool climate, with all basic facilities & away from the scorching heat is something every Indian student dreams of. You will enjoy and cherish every bit of it. From the nightlife in London & refreshing strolls around the Thames river, everything is worth it. In the end, all I can say is, if you can, you must, must, must. As we live once, we study once, so why not make the best out of it.
The education system in UK is as high as that in the USA and ranked higher according to PISA 2012, especially in mathematics and science research, nevertheless similar in many other aspects. We observe Public Schools which provide education to students aged from 5 to 18 free of cost while Private Sector which takes tuition fees are still present and follows a Curriculum similar to the National Curriculum followed by the Public Schools and is prone to yearly inspection from the British Government.
